Welcome to the technical weblog of Torbjörn Johansson where I post about new and ordinary things that affect my day.
I finally got around to uploading the content for the Destruct Zero gaming community. Take a peek at www.000d0.com :)
After a long wait i finally got my black Asus EEE 901 :)
XP doesn't feel as responsive as linux, but the biggest annoyance is that the built-in cam doesn't work with Yahoo messenger.
Stay tuned for a mini-review
There was a slight dip in the electrical system today which caused the server to reboot. Gotta love the crappy electrical system..
I got my two Opteron 852 cpus a few days ago and plugged them into the server today. Although I'll need to update the bios the server feels much more responsive. I'll most likely need a new pair of heatsinks aswell since its running a little hot.
I'm excited about the PC version of Mass Effect. I saw a torrent of it and it's pretty funny that it's not released here yet.
When are the developers gonna realize that we euros hang around american gaming forums? WE DON'T WANT TO WAIT 1½ MONTHS EXTRA!
Well, I'm gonna buy it as soon as it comes out.
Slow update here. I've been busier than usual lately.
I got the Quad working, though I cant't clock it anything at all. Also I apparently got 4 dead OCZ sticks from Komplett. Had to buy some Corsair memory just to play Age of Conan :(
I took the server down for some maintenance earlier today. The fans are getting pretty noisy so I'll probably have to take it down again soon... or maybe I should just wait until I either build or get a nice new 19" rack mount case for it.
My Chinese iPhone ripoff has arrived. There were some initial problems with my provider Telia, saying invalid SIM, but a prepaid Telenor card allowed me to test the phone. It seems to be somewhat of a lottery if you get a good camera or not. People have reported getting everything between 0.3 (like me) and 2.0 Mpix.
Stay tuned for a full review!
I'm still having memory problems with my Q6600. Apparently all the memory sticks work but they appear to be very picky about how they are placed. This is a bit odd since it's 4 identical sticks of 2gb PC2-6400.
My new "genuine copy" iPhone, the Chinese ripoff modell called CECT P168 is on it's way. It'll be interesting to see how it is since I'm not that fanatic about the Apple iPhone to begin with, bu the price of the knock-off was quite attractive. I think I'd rather have the Nokia N95.
Both are however a little bit out of my price range. My trusted Sony Ericsson K510i is still hanging in there. The ammount of abuse that phone has endured is amazing.
